Regular price $10.99

Unit price per

When smell and vision tests don't offer peace of mind, we recommend you use pH strips to test fermented foods and drinks.

These test strips will help you measure acidity and troubleshoot problems when you're making ferments including,

  • Kombucha,
  • Kefir
  • Kimchi
  • Sauerkraut
  • Yogurt
  • Cheese

Each box contains 100 test strips that have a pH range of 4.0 to 7.0.

Easily match the colour of your tester with the code on the pack to get an indicative reading.

Why We Made This

This product was born after receiving loads of emails from first-time fermenters who were unsure if their cheese, yoghurt, pickles, and drinks were safe to consume.

We found that the smell and visual tests we offered weren't enough to assure them, so we began recommending using pH strips.

We also encouraged them to understand the development and activity of lactic bacteria because it's an important food safety indicator in cheesemaking and fermenting.
